Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona striker Memphis Depay in January.
The 28-year-old striker, whose contract expires this summer, could move for a reduced transfer fee.
Arsenal are looking for a replacement for the injured Gabriel Jesus and United are keen to strengthen their attack after sacking Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, both clubs have approached Depay’s agent about a possible transfer.
The magazine reports that Chelsea and Newcastle are also interested in the Dutch striker.
Barcelona coach Xavi says he doesn’t want anyone out this month, but Depay has played just two league games this season.
An interview with Barça officials is scheduled for the end of this month, and the future will be decided.
The Spanish side have said they will only let Depay go if he receives a transfer fee, despite his contract expiring in the summer.
According to Sport magazine, Depay is not the first choice for these clubs, but with limited options in the January window, they could be forced to sign him.
Depay himself is said to want a return to Old Trafford.
The striker originally joined Red Devils from PSV in the summer of 2015 before moving to Ligue 1 side Lyon a year and a half later.
He made 53 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 6 assists.
Depay is leaving for Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
And although he has lost his lead role this season, Xavi wants the Dutchman to stay.
When asked about Depay’s future recently, he said, “I don’t want anyone to leave. I’m happy with this team.
There doesn’t seem to be a “market”. I am happy with Depay.
