Boeing plans to cut about 2,000 finance and HR jobs by 2023

Boe­ing plans to cut jobs in its aero­space com­pa­ny’s finance and human resources depart­ments in 2023, which will result in the loss of about 2,000 jobs.

“We expect to reduce approx­i­mate­ly 2,000 jobs through a com­bi­na­tion of job cuts and lay­offs, pri­mar­i­ly in finance and human resources,” Boe­ing said in a state­ment issued Monday.

“No one has been noti­fied of job loss, but we will con­tin­ue to share infor­ma­tion trans­par­ent­ly so that peo­ple can plan ahead.”

The com­pa­ny, which recent­ly moved its head­quar­ters to Arling­ton, Vir­ginia, says it expects to “sig­nif­i­cant­ly increase” its glob­al work­force this year.

“We added 15,000 Boe­ing employ­ees last year and plan to hire anoth­er 10,000 this year with a focus on engi­neer­ing and man­u­fac­tur­ing,” the state­ment said.

Boe­ing will have a total work­force of 156,000 as of Decem­ber 31, 2022.

Boe­ing, one of Wash­ing­ton’s largest pri­vate sec­tor employ­ers, plans to out­source about a third of the retired jobs to Tata Con­sult­ing Ser­vices in Ben­galu­ru, India, accord­ing to the Seat­tle Times. is.

Mike Fried­man, senior direc­tor of com­mu­ni­ca­tions, told The Times that the remain­ing posi­tions will be elim­i­nat­ed as the com­pa­ny cuts back on finan­cial and human resources sup­port services.
