A chihuahua named Pixie was mauled to death by a greyhound while being walked on a lead along Croy Shore Beach near Ayr, Scotland.
Her owner, Maya Paton, said the greyhound “came charging towards her” and ripped Pixie from her arms. Pixie was only five years old.
The incident has left the family heartbroken and traumatized. Paton shared the news on Facebook and urged other dog owners to keep their pets on a lead in public places if they cannot control them or if they do not have good recall.
The family hopes to raise awareness about the importance of responsible dog ownership to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
Pixie’s death is a tragic reminder of the need for responsible pet ownership and the importance of keeping dogs under control in public places.
