Tragic Passing of “Alf” Child Actor Benji Gregory

It is with great sadness that we report the untimely passing of former “Alf” child star Benji Gregory. The 46-year-old actor was found unresponsive in a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona last month.

Cause of Death Still Pending

According to reports, Gregory’s sister Rebecca confirmed his death on Wednesday. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s office lists Gregory’s date of death as June 13. The cause of his death is still pending investigation.

Gregory’s Struggles with Mental Health

Sources close to Gregory suggest that the actor was battling depression, bipolar disorder, and a severe sleep disorder that would often keep him awake for days at a time. It is believed that Gregory may have fallen asleep in his car at the bank and succumbed to heatstroke due to the Arizona’s intense summer weather.

The Loss of Gregory’s Service Dog

Tragically, Gregory’s beloved service dog Hans also died in the car alongside him. The two were inseparable, and Gregory’s family has asked that any donations made in his memory be directed to animal welfare organizations like the ASPCA that he would have supported.

Remembering Gregory’s Acting Legacy

Gregory rose to fame as a child actor, starring as Brian Tanner on the popular NBC sitcom “Alf” from 1986 to 1990. He also had guest roles on shows like “The A‑Team” and “The Twilight Zone” during the 80s. After stepping away from Hollywood in 2003 to enlist in the U.S. Navy, Gregory lived a quieter life until his untimely passing.
