CINEMA: American actor Sean Penn escapes from Ukraine’s war by walking to Poland.

The Oscar-winning actor is filming a documentary about the Russian military invasion of the country, which began last Thursday (February 24).

In his latest tweet, Penn told his followers, “Myself and two colleagues walked miles to the Polish border after abandoning our car on the side of the road.”

Next to an image of him dragging a suitcase down a busy road, he added, “Almost every car in this photo is carrying only women and children, most with no sign of luggage, and a car their only valuable asset.”

As Variety reported, Penn was on the ground in Ukraine producing the documentary in the Vice Studios production last week when Russian troops launched their attack.

He condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions on Twitter, writing, “Already a brutal mistake of lives taken and hearts broken, and if he doesn’t relent, I believe Mr. Putin will have made a most horrific mistake for all of humanity.” .

“President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have set themselves up as historic symbols of courage and principle.

Penn continued, “Ukraine is the tip of the spear for the democratic embrace of dreams. If we allow it to fight alone, our soul as America is lost.

The Milk star met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the invasion of Russia, as confirmed in a Facebook post shared by the president’s office last week.

He also attended press briefings, met with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk and spoke with journalists and members of the Ukrainian military about the attack.

The government office wrote in a statement, “Sean Penn shows the courage that many others lack, especially Western politicians.

“The filmmaker came especially to Kiev to record all the events that are currently taking place in Ukraine and to tell the world the truth about Russia’s invasion of our country.”

Penn last visited the country in November 2021, where he reportedly met with Ukrainian forces as tensions rose between Kiev and Moscow.

The actor has produced a number of anti-war and humanitarian projects over the years, including the 2020 documentary Citizen Penn, which details the efforts of the actor and a group of volunteers as they provide aid to Haitians after the devastating 2010 earthquake.
