“My sweet and beloved friend Mitch passed away early this morning,” Kathryn Scott said in a tribute post on Facebook.

Throughout his impressive career, the actor starred alongside Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

Ryan has played a wide range of roles over the years, including a cult leader and even a portrayal of Hugh Hefner.

“And I lived a lot of real life while I was at it.

Sober for the next 30 years, I’m told I came out a good and useful human being.”

Ryan’s stepdaughter, Denise Freed, confirmed that he died of congestive heart failure at his Los Angeles home, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
