Move over, Scors­ese! John­ny Depp is busy behind the cam­era, direct­ing a biopic on leg­endary artist Amedeo Modigliani titled “Modi.” This marks his direc­to­r­i­al return since 1997’s “The Brave” (co-star­ring Mar­lon Bran­do, no less!). But don’t wor­ry, aspir­ing actors – Depp isn’t giv­ing up act­ing forever!

Sources say John­ny’s lov­ing being direc­tor and is cur­rent­ly focused on edit­ing “Modi,” which already has peo­ple buzzing. While act­ing in Amer­i­can films will hap­pen again, right now, direct­ing’s his jam.

He’s been spot­ted in Europe, look­ing slim­mer with a new hair­cut, pro­mot­ing his recent film “Jeanne du Bar­ry.” There, he even met with stu­dents from the Ghet­to Film School’s Lon­don chap­ter. Appar­ent­ly, John­ny’s a big sup­port­er of their program!

So, whether direct­ing or act­ing, it’s clear Dep­p’s still pas­sion­ate about movies. We can’t wait to see what he does next!
