Martin Mull, the renowned comedic actor who captivated audiences with his roles in Roseanne, Clue, and Sabrina: The Teenage Witch, has passed away at the age of 80.

His daughter, Maggie Mull, confirmed the sad news on Instagram, stating that her father had fought a “valiant fight against a long illness” before passing away at his home on June 27th.

Mull’s versatile talent and unwavering dedication to his craft made him a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.

He first gained recognition for his breakout role in Norman Lear’s soap opera parody, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, and later went on to star as Roseanne’s boss, Leon Carp, in the hit sitcom Roseanne.

In addition to his television work, Mull also made a mark in film, appearing in classics like Clue, Mr. Mom, and Mrs. Doubtfire. He was also a frequent guest on game shows, most notably as a regular on Hollywood Squares, where he often occupied the coveted center square.

Mull’s daughter, Maggie, paid tribute to her father, describing him as an artist who excelled in various creative disciplines, including painting, music, and comedy.

She expressed her deep love and admiration for him, stating that he will be “deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and coworkers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and—the sign of a truly exceptional person—by many, many dogs.”

Melissa Joan Hart, Mull’s co-star in Sabrina: The Teenage Witch, also shared a heartfelt message, reflecting on the joy of working with him and the lasting impact he had on the entertainment industry.

Hart praised Mull’s versatility and resilience, noting that he had a passion for various creative pursuits, including painting and music.
