Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, recently severed a legal tie with her father by dropping his last name.

This decision, reportedly fueled by a custody battle incident, sheds light on the complexities of their family dynamic.

At 18, Shiloh became eligible to request a name change. Just three days after her birthday, she filed paperwork to remove “Pitt.” Sources close to the situation allege a connection between this action and a “violation of Shiloh’s victim’s rights” during the custody battle.

Specifically, the source points to a 2016 mid-air altercation between Jolie and Pitt, which some speculate may have involved Shiloh.

They further claim Shiloh felt excluded from testifying about her preferences in the custody arrangements, which they believe violated the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.

Jolie reportedly attempted to have the children testify, but Judge John Oudekirk ultimately declined. This decision was later overturned due to a potential conflict of interest with one of Pitt’s attorneys.

The source emphasizes that Shiloh’s name change stems from the custody battle and her perception of being silenced. This rift appears to extend beyond the legal realm, with reports suggesting “zero prospect” of reconciliation between Shiloh and Brad Pitt.
