In an interÂview with NBC News on TuesÂday, Los AngeÂles CounÂty teacher Shearhod said his son first became interÂestÂed in manÂiÂcures around the age of two.

ShearÂrod wantÂed to take AshÂton and his girlÂfriend to a nail salon to cheer him up when he went home upset by his teacherâs remarks.
Itâs someÂthing my son enjoys, and weâve done it a few times togethÂer, so I didÂnât want him to feel guilty or ashamed,â ShearÂrod said. , we want them to enjoy life to the fullest withÂout being bound by âstrict genÂder normsâ.â
