According to reports, Amazon is making a tomb raider tv series

Accord­ing to The Hol­ly­wood Reporter, Ama­zon is devel­op­ing a TV series based on the Tomb Raider series of video games, with a script writ­ten by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Details on the new Tomb Raider fran­chise are still unclear, but The Hol­ly­wood Reporter says that while Waller-Bridge will write and exec­u­tive pro­duce, he won’t be in the show. The dis­play is seem­ing­ly nev­er­the­less in devel­op­ment, so we won’t count on it to peer it every time soon.

UPDATE: In addi­tion to the Tomb Raider TV series, THR reports that Ama­zon is devel­op­ing a new Tomb Raider movie.

The stream­ing giant plans to cre­ate its own Tomb Raider uni­verse, com­bin­ing movies, TV series, and video games. Ama­zon’s Tomb Raider deal is said to be one of their biggest ever, which is say­ing some­thing con­sid­er­ing they only spent $250 mil­lion for the rights to Lord of the Rings.
