CINEMA: The 29-year-old Disney star Kim Mi-soo who starred in Snowdrop has passed away suddenly.

In a statement released by her agency Landscape, she said her loved ones were “at the bottom of their grief” because of her sudden disappearance.
“Kim suddenly left us on January 5,” read the Wednesday January 5 statement.

“The bereaved are gripped by grief in the face of this sudden sadness.

“Please refrain from reporting any false rumors or speculations so that the family can mourn in peace.”

The statement, obtained by Variety, was translated from Korean, with no cause of death given.

In the South Korean television series Snowdrop, Kim played the role of a fourth-year student and activist named Yeo Jung-min, who shared a dormitory with Eun Young-ro, one of the protagonists played by the singer of K ‑pop Jisoo.

While the series airs on the JTBC network in Korea, it is available to watch on Disney Plus as an original program on the streaming platform.

The story is set in 1987, a few months after the June 1987 democracy movement in South Korea.

Kim had previously appeared in series such as Hi Bye, Mama !, Into the Ring and The School Nurse Files, as well as in films Lipstick Revolution and Kyungmi’s World.

Prior to the actress’ death, seven episodes of Snowdrop had aired, with nine more episodes remaining in the season.

She had recently started filming the Disney Plus drama Kiss Six Sense, with South Korean online platform Naver reporting that filming had been canceled following her death.
