FOOTBALL: England captain Harry Kane could be banned from wearing the OneLove rainbow armband as it requires permission from FIFA and Qatar

England captain Harry Kane and others could be banned from wearing rainbow armbands at the World Cup

England captain Harry Kane and others could be banned from wearing rainbow armbands at the World Cup.

FA, along with nine other European countries, supports the “OneLove” campaign to end discrimination.

However, FIFA has yet to issue a permit for captains to wear armbands in Qatar. This promotes fun, inclusivity and anti-discrimination.

Kane wore his armband tonight against Italy in Milan, while Gareth Bale wore it in Wales’ loss to Belgium on Thursday.

But now the FA and the rest of the world must play the waiting game.

The host country, Qatar, will decide, together with FIFA, whether to accept the requests of the European countries in the future.

Kane announced that he would be wearing his armband, saying, “I am honored to join my fellow national team captains in supporting this important OneLove campaign.

As captains, we may compete against each other on the pitch, but we stand together against all forms of discrimination. ”

“This is even more important now that division is becoming more common in society.”

And Kane revealed that sessions with a secret fitness guru have helped him stay injury-free heading into competition.

The Tottenham striker, who once suffered from ankle and hamstring problems, says he has had little trouble since working with the Spanish specialist.

In fact, since January 2020, Kane has only missed a total of five games.

The England captain said: ‘He’s found a physiotherapist and he’s really nice.

“He worked hours and hours and had a really good relationship and he was really helpful.

The condition of the “ankle” is changing between before and now. I’m in a different place.

There was a time when he was worried, “For one season, he can’t play consistently.” Especially in big competitions, it’s very nice to be in good shape.

“If you can think freely and play consistently, that helps.”
