Paul PogÂba is out of the World Cup with a new thigh injury, his agent has revealed.
He picked up a new thigh injury in trainÂing with JuvenÂtus and will be out for at least three weeks.
PogÂba underÂwent medÂicals in Turin and PittsÂburgh, and was also told he would need to recovÂer from knee surgery he underÂwent in September.
Agent Rafaela PimenÂta told The TeleÂfoot newsÂpaÂper that he wants to be ready for the World Cup but will have to wait patiently.
âPablo would love to be back as soon as posÂsiÂble, but he has to be patient, work hard durÂing this difÂfiÂcult time and do his best to be back on the pitch for the fans and the team as soon as posÂsiÂble,â she said. Hmm.
There was earÂly hope that the knee surgery would allow him to return before the World Cup, but he will not play for JuvenÂtus again.
The forÂmer ManÂchesÂter UnitÂed left Old TrafÂford after his conÂtract expired and rejoined JuvenÂtus this summer.
But PogÂba tore the latÂerÂal menisÂcus in his right knee before makÂing his secÂond debut.
It was a difÂfiÂcult deciÂsion for him to have surgery.
And while lookÂing for anothÂer soluÂtion, he decidÂed to have surgery to improve his chances of qualÂiÂfyÂing for the World Cup.
But he hasÂnât recovÂered in time, and with mulÂtiÂple key stars from the 2018 World Cup winÂning side in doubt or absent, France is in turmoil.
ManÂchesÂter UnitÂedâs Rafael Varane and Chelseaâs NâGoÂlo Kante will also miss the comÂpeÂtiÂtion. Franceâs injury list is a nightÂmare for the two-time champions.
SimÂiÂlarÂly, EngÂland are in a desÂperÂate race against time, with injuries to key playÂers such as Reece James and Kyle WalkÂer feared.
James flew to Dubai to expeÂdite his rehab after sufÂferÂing a knee injury on OctoÂber 11 that will take him eight weeks to heal.
