FOOTBALL: Paul Pogba is out of World Cup after another thigh injury hits France in Juventus training

Paul Pogba is out of the World Cup with a new thigh injury, his agent has revealed.

He picked up a new thigh injury in training with Juventus and will be out for at least three weeks.

Pogba underwent medicals in Turin and Pittsburgh, and was also told he would need to recover from knee surgery he underwent in September.

Agent Rafaela Pimenta told The Telefoot newspaper that he wants to be ready for the World Cup but will have to wait patiently.

“Pablo would love to be back as soon as possible, but he has to be patient, work hard during this difficult time and do his best to be back on the pitch for the fans and the team as soon as possible,” she said. Hmm.

There was early hope that the knee surgery would allow him to return before the World Cup, but he will not play for Juventus again.

The former Manchester United left Old Trafford after his contract expired and rejoined Juventus this summer.

But Pogba tore the lateral meniscus in his right knee before making his second debut.

It was a difficult decision for him to have surgery.

And while looking for another solution, he decided to have surgery to improve his chances of qualifying for the World Cup.

But he hasn’t recovered in time, and with multiple key stars from the 2018 World Cup winning side in doubt or absent, France is in turmoil.

Manchester United’s Rafael Varane and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante will also miss the competition. France’s injury list is a nightmare for the two-time champions.

Similarly, England are in a desperate race against time, with injuries to key players such as Reece James and Kyle Walker feared.

James flew to Dubai to expedite his rehab after suffering a knee injury on October 11 that will take him eight weeks to heal.
