Game Awards: Valve Gives Over 100 Steam Decks

While there are plen­ty of stream­ing options to choose from at this year’s Game Awards, Valve is look­ing to make the Steam TV cov­er­age even more com­pelling by offer­ing a pletho­ra of Steam Deck consoles.

The video game devel­op­er and pub­lish­er announced that it will be giv­ing away a 512GB Steam Deck every minute dur­ing its awards gala livestream on Decem­ber 8th.

To par­tic­i­pate, you must be watch­ing the event on Steam TV start­ing at 19:30. ET, reg­is­tra­tion on the offi­cial sweep­stakes page is required in advance.

Only those resid­ing in the Unit­ed States, Cana­da, the Unit­ed King­dom, and the EU, where game con­soles are cur­rent­ly sold, can reg­is­ter and apply.

You must also prove that your Steam pur­chase was made between Novem­ber 14, 2021 and Novem­ber 14, 2022, your coun­try has been ver­i­fied, and your account is not restrict­ed and in good standing.

Valve will ran­dom­ly draw one name from all reg­is­trants every minute dur­ing the event and announce the win­ner in chat each time the draw takes place.

In addi­tion, the pro­gram is sched­uled for about two and a half hours, and more than 100 steam decks will be hit.

The 2022 Game Awards will not only be avail­able for online stream­ing, but will also fea­ture live “IMAX Expe­ri­ences” in select cities in the Unit­ed States, Cana­da and oth­er regions.

Also new this year is the Best Adap­ta­tion cat­e­go­ry for projects that trans­late games into movies, TV shows, pod­casts and books.
