Four people were injured when a helicopter decoration fell from the roof and into the pool below at a water park at the American Dream shopping center in New Jersey on Sunday, officials said.
Officers were dispatched to pick up a visitor “injured by a decorative prop that fell from the ceiling” at the DreamWorks water park in East Rutherford shortly after 3 p.m., New Jersey State Police said in a statement. bottom.
State police said they believed a decorative helicopter was suspended from the ceiling and somehow detached before falling into the pool.
At least four people are said to have non-life-threatening injuries. One person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the other three were treated at the scene with minor injuries, state police added.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident to ensure that the park meets all required safety standards,” the American Dream Mall said in a statement.
“Guest safety is our number one priority,” he said.
Out of respect for patient privacy, the mall said it could not provide further information.
