Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has paved the way for Germany coaching, admitting ‘it’s not out of the question’.

Klopp, 55, has been at Liverpool since October 2017.

During this time, he transformed the Reds from Premier League ineligibles to champions and led them to a maiden title in 2020.

Klopp also holds the FA Cup, and Liverpool’s Champions League win over Tottenham in 2019 was his biggest highlight.

But the Reds have not been at their best in recent months and are 16 points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Therefore, it is reported in the home country that “there is finally a possibility that Klopp will take office from Germany.”

Hans Flick’s side were knocked out in the World Cup group stage, and while they will back him for now, the German FA could decide on a change at a later date.

Klopp signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool last year and remains committed to the project.

But he has now opened the door to Germany’s coaching career, telling Bild newspaper: “It’s not entirely out of the question that I could one day become the national team coach.”

“But it has to fit, and so far it hasn’t fit. And if I finish my contract at Liverpool, I definitely won’t do anything for a year.

Klopp was already out of Germany’s squad when Joachim Lowe left a year and a half ago.

And the tactician says he will be out of football for a year when the time comes to leave Anfield.

In fact, there are even reports that Klopp is open to taking over as England manager after the departure of Gareth Southgate.

Last month, a representative denied any connection between Klopp and the German national team.

Marc Kosicke said: “Jürgen Klopp has no intention of resigning from Liverpool FC.”

“It was taken into consideration by the club owners before the start of the season that problems could arise again this season due to the close competition last season.

“Jürgen has the support of the person in charge and is in regular contact.

“He loves the club, the team and the fans and is determined to continue and make his move with Liverpool successful.

“He didn’t extend his contract until 2026 in vain.”
