The Mega Millions jackpot rose to around $940 million after another draw saw a number of losers but no big winners.
The numbers drawn late Tuesday were 25, 29, 33, 41, 44 and the golden Megaball 18.
The next drawing will be held on Friday night.
This time, the $940 million jackpot is for one winner who chooses to recoup his annuity for 29 years. Most winners opt for cash dividends, but Friday night’s draw brings in about $483.5 million.
Tuesday’s drawing had more than 2.9 million winning tickets in varying amounts, including three $4 million sold in Arizona, Mississippi and South Dakota, Mega Millions said in a statement. .
The absence of a winner in the estimated $785 million jackpot on Tuesday means no one has won the top prize for the 23rd time in a row.
This new jackpot remains the sixth jackpot in US history.
With a 1 in 302.6 million chance of winning the first prize, it’s no surprise that there won’t be a jackpot winner.
The jackpot is the biggest since Californian won the $2.04 billion Powerball prize on November 8th. The winner of that award has not yet been announced.
In the game’s 20 years, Mega Millions has surpassed Friday’s estimated jackpot three times: $1.53 billion in 2018, $1.05 billion in 2021 and $1.33 billion in July. I have announced that I will not.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states plus Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
