MUSIC: Mike Mora, husband of singer Kelis, dies of stomach cancer aged 37.

Kelis’ hus­band, Mike Mora, died aged 37 after bat­tling stage four stom­ach cancer.

Pho­tog­ra­ph­er Mike revealed he had can­cer in Sep­tem­ber 2021 and was diag­nosed a year ear­li­er — by which time doc­tors had giv­en him just 18 months to live.

“Sad­ly it is true that Mike Mora has passed away. We ask every­one to respect the pri­va­cy of Kelis and his fam­i­ly right now. Thank you,” said Steve Sat­ter­hwaite of Red Light Management.

The singer has yet to pub­licly com­ment on her hus­band’s pass­ing on her social media platforms.

Kelis and Mike mar­ried in 2014 and in Sep­tem­ber 2020 they wel­comed their sec­ond child, a daugh­ter. They also share a six-year-old son named Shepherd

The singer also shares 12-year-old son Knight with ex-hus­band Nas, to whom she was mar­ried from 2005 to 2010.

Kelis and Mora have lived on a remote farm in Temec­u­la, Calif., out­side of Los Ange­les since Jan­u­ary 2020, which they had man­aged togeth­er and raised their children.

Mora took to his Insta­gram in late Sep­tem­ber 2021 to reveal he had stage 4 stom­ach can­cer which had spread to the lymph nodes in his back.

He shared a pho­to of a man from UCLA, which “was tak­en as I was trans­ferred to the UCLA San­ta Mon­i­ca Oncol­o­gy Sec­tion from near­by Ronald Rea­gan Hospital.”

“This gen­tle­man, Latin broth­er, saw my weak­ness. He looked at me before leav­ing my room and said “I’ve seen peo­ple get out of the cra­zi­est sit­u­a­tions, be strong broth­er, you under­stand.” I will nev­er for­get his face….’ Mora said.

“They said 18 months. It was exact­ly 12 o’clock. Here we go.. Scared as F¥#%… The sto­ry will go on.. I love you @kelis,’ he concluded.

Anoth­er pho­tog­ra­ph­er, Bri­an Bowen Smith, shared a heart­felt trib­ute on his Insta­gram on Monday.

Musi­cian Dal­las Austin also post­ed a trib­ute on Insta­gram, adding, “All I can say is we LOVE YOU VERY MUCH Mikey,” along with a red heart emoji.

“Sad­dened to hear the news that our dear friend Mike passed away last night. It was such a plea­sure work­ing with you. I loved all of your ques­tions and your pas­sion for your fam­i­ly and pho­tog­ra­phy,” he said. start.

“It reminds me of me. Send­ing love to his wife and fam­i­ly. Mike had been sick for a minute but he loved being on set. Today we will think of you in every pic­ture. Great exam­ple of why you need to live every day to the fullest.
