Newcastle have set out to sign Chelsea target Youssoufa Moukoko.
The 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund sensation will be free at the end of this season when his contract expires.
It is also rumored to be Stamford Bridge and Barcelona.
City, PSG and Real Madrid have also shown interest in him in the past.
However, the Evening Standard reports that Newcastle have made a verbal offer to the teenager.
And this summer he is said to have offered €170,000 a week to come to St James’ Park.
Moukoko, who played for Germany at the World Cup, has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 59 appearances for Dortmund.
In 2020, at 16, he became the youngest player in German history to become a professional footballer.
The Bundesliga has changed the age limit rules to allow young players to play in Germany’s top league until the age of 16 and a half.
Moukoko made his league debut for Dortmund just 28 days after his 16th birthday.
Moreover, Dortmund’s player contract situation fits perfectly with the model Newcastle use to sign players.
Manager Eddie Howe is now focusing on free transfers to strengthen his team within the limits of financial fair play.
And being third in the Premier League, they can give their players a chance to play in the Champions League.
Moukoko is one of the stars Chelsea are eyeing.
Chelsea already signed Benoît Badiacil, David Datro Fofana and Andrei Santos in January.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Enzo Fernandes, Joao Felix and Marcus Thuram.
