Life has not been kind to Sohna and Mohna Singh. Abandoned at birth by their parents, the Siamese brothers in the city of Amritsar feared they would never be able to work. But they have just been hired as electricians in the service of the state. A “dream job” for them, especially since they will earn two salaries.

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has offered them a job as electricians, for which they will receive a monthly salary of 10,000 Indian rupees, or nearly 120 euros. “We are grateful to the government of the Punjab for appreciating our talent,” the twins said after being hired.

Teachers at the shelter where they grew up, after being abandoned by their parents when they were only two months old, say they were interested in repairing electrical appliances from a young age.
When they were born in 2003, doctors established that Sohna and Mohna had two hearts, two pairs of arms, kidneys and a spinal cord, but only one liver, one gallbladder, one spleen, and one pair of legs.
