
South African soccer player Oshwin Andries has been tragically stabbed to death at the age of 19.
His death was confirmed on Saturday, tweeted by his club Stellenbosch FC.
Stellenbosch FC mourns the passing of Oschwin Andries.
“Everyone at the club’s thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones at this time.”
The news comes just hours after Stellenbosch’s 2–1 victory over Chippa United in the Eastern Cape.
Andries’ brother Lee Irwin has now commented on the stabbing that took place over the weekend.
“I was joking, and it annoyed the suspect,” IOL’s Brandon Nell told reporters.
“He stabbed his brother in the side many times.
“Yesterday her mother was taking him to the hospital and she died in her car, in her mother’s arms. She is very distraught.
“He was awesome…he knew what he was doing.
