For Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola is the best soccer manager in the world and to face him regularly would plunge many people into depression, which is not the case for him though.
The two coaches are in their sixth year of confrontation for the different titles in England after having spent two seasons of duel in Germany, one at the head of Dortmund and the other as the boss of the team of Bayern Munich.
If the Spanish technician has prevented Klopp from winning more titles, he claims not to suffer any depression for all that.
He said: “If I were a different person I would probably be a little depressed by the fact that Pep Guardiola constantly coaches this kind of team.
“Maybe at Dortmund we could have won more titles if Pep had not been at Bayern.
“Now it’s pretty much the same, imagine if he wouldn’t be there, we probably could have won one more league title. But I’m not like that, thank God. So I’m completely satisfied with where we are.
“I have a lot of respect for what they do, they’re a crazy soccer team. And for me, the best manager in the world. So it’s a combination that makes it quite tricky.
Jurgen Klopp admitted that he likes to make a preparation before the games against Manchester City.
“I couldn’t respect what they do more. I like to watch them play,” he added.
The truth I can not hide it. But the good thing is that we’re not too bad either. So that helps.”
