Chelsea players still believe in a comeback in Madrid.

Chelsea and their players remain convinced that a comeback against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu is possible. For them, it is a mountain to climb and a return cannot therefore be ruled out.

Beaten at home last Wednesday 1–3 thanks in particular to an incredible Karim Benzema who slammed a hat-trick, the blues want to be positive before the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against the current leader of La Liga.

According to Mason Mount, 23, the blues won’t give up their crown without a fight. He claimed: “Chelsea’s philosophy is that we are always underdogs and we have to climb the mountain that sometimes seems impossible. That’s what we have to do now. We have a huge game next week at their house and I hope we can come back and do it.”

A few days before the reception of Real Madrid, Chelsea had already conceded a humiliating 4–1 defeat against Brentford in the Premier League. Thomas Tuchel’s foals have therefore conceded 7 goals in just 2 games. Mason Mount remains optimistic despite his team’s porous defense.

For defender Christensen: “We need to fix this as soon as possible.”
“It’s football, everything is possible, we have to give our all. We know how difficult it will be. We have to regroup, attack every game at 100%.

“Every game is a final now. We have a mountain to climb but we are Chelsea. If there’s one team that can do it, it’s us.

“We’re going to give it our all because we have this hunger and desire to really achieve something.”

Chelsea will first have to face Southampton this weekend in the Premier League to build confidence and consolidate their third place in the Championship before the return match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
