SPORT: Mauricio Pochettino the PSG boss wants to return to the Premier League and would have chosen Tottenham.

PSG boss Mauri­cio Pochet­ti­no is keen on a return to the Pre­mier League and a reunion with for­mer club Tot­ten­ham, accord­ing to reports.

Pochet­ti­no’s future at PSG has been the sub­ject of spec­u­la­tion in recent months and the Argen­tine has been heav­i­ly linked with the Man­ches­ter Unit­ed job.

The Red Dev­ils are cur­rent­ly look­ing to appoint a new head coach once care­tak­er man­ag­er Ralf Rang­nick leaves his post at Old Traf­ford in May.

Pochet­ti­no is believed to be in con­tention for the vacan­cy along­side Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, man­ag­er Car­lo Ancelot­ti and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.

How­ev­er, PSG chief Leonar­do recent­ly insist­ed that the French side have no plans to replace Pochet­ti­no at the helm, and the boss him­self has no inten­tion of leaving.

But talk­SPORT’s Alan Brazil has claimed Pochet­ti­no would rather return to Tot­ten­ham than take the job at United.

“Pochet­ti­no won’t go to Unit­ed — Man Unit­ed have been warned by PSG sport­ing direc­tor [Leonar­do] that Pochet­ti­no have no inten­tion of leav­ing Paris,” he said.

‘Well, I’m telling you right now, that’s not the case.

“From the hors­es’ mouths, Poch wants to come back to the Pre­mier [League] and he wants to come back with Tottenham.”

“He wants to come back to Spurs, I’m not say­ing it’s going to hap­pen, but that’s what he wants,” he added.

Pochet­ti­no was sacked by Tot­ten­ham in 2019, after guid­ing the club to the Cham­pi­ons League final dur­ing his first spell at the club.

He is said to still have a good rela­tion­ship with club pres­i­dent Daniel Levy who report­ed­ly tried to bring him back before appoint­ing Nuno Espir­i­to Santo.

The north Lon­don side appoint­ed Anto­nio Con­te after the Por­tugue­se’s ill-fat­ed reign but his recent post-match emo­tion­al out­burst has left his posi­tion at the club in doubt.

Accord­ing to Brazil, Pochet­ti­no would­n’t refuse Unit­ed but in his heart wants a return to Spurs.

“I’m not say­ing Poch won’t go to [Man] Unit­ed because if he can’t return to Spurs and Unit­ed want him, it would prob­a­bly be fool­ish to say no.

“But I know in his heart that he wants to come back to Spurs.”
