PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on a return to the Premier League and a reunion with former club Tottenham, according to reports.
Pochettino’s future at PSG has been the subject of speculation in recent months and the Argentine has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job.
The Red Devils are currently looking to appoint a new head coach once caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick leaves his post at Old Trafford in May.
Pochettino is believed to be in contention for the vacancy alongside Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, manager Carlo Ancelotti and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.
However, PSG chief Leonardo recently insisted that the French side have no plans to replace Pochettino at the helm, and the boss himself has no intention of leaving.
But talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil has claimed Pochettino would rather return to Tottenham than take the job at United.
“Pochettino won’t go to United — Man United have been warned by PSG sporting director [Leonardo] that Pochettino have no intention of leaving Paris,” he said.
‘Well, I’m telling you right now, that’s not the case.
“From the horses’ mouths, Poch wants to come back to the Premier [League] and he wants to come back with Tottenham.”
“He wants to come back to Spurs, I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but that’s what he wants,” he added.
Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in 2019, after guiding the club to the Champions League final during his first spell at the club.
He is said to still have a good relationship with club president Daniel Levy who reportedly tried to bring him back before appointing Nuno Espirito Santo.
The north London side appointed Antonio Conte after the Portuguese’s ill-fated reign but his recent post-match emotional outburst has left his position at the club in doubt.
According to Brazil, Pochettino wouldn’t refuse United but in his heart wants a return to Spurs.
“I’m not saying Poch won’t go to [Man] United because if he can’t return to Spurs and United want him, it would probably be foolish to say no.
“But I know in his heart that he wants to come back to Spurs.”
