Ralf Ragnick has told Marcus Rashford to leave this summer if he intends to leave Old Trafford.
But the Manchester United boss wants Rashford to forget about his future for now and focus on helping the Red Devils secure a top-four place.
Boss Rangnick said: “Let’s say he and his agents, or his family, at some point in the summer maybe think about going to another club, well he can do that — but in the summer.
“Now the window is closed. It has nothing to do with our next game or Tuesday’s game.
Rashford was left out of the Red Devils’ starting line-up for last Sunday’s dismal derby defeat at the Etihad despite Rangnick not having another striker available.
It left the local boy considering moving away from Old Trafford for the first time.
He has 18 months left on his current contract, with an option from the club side to extend it for a further year.
But Rangnick insists his main concern is how to get the best out of the player for the rest of the season.
Rashford has struggled for form, scoring just five goals in 24 appearances.
Rangnick said: “We should just finish this season as well as possible and then there will be enough time in the summer to talk about it.”
Rangnick refused to ‘waste energy’ ahead of today’s showdown against Tottenham when speaking about the Cristiano Ronaldo case.
