FOOTBALL: Cristiano Ronaldo could move to Sporting Lisbon next summer to play alongside his son, says the Manchester United star’s mother

Cristiano Ronaldo's mother has predicted that his son and 12-year-old grandson, Cristiano Jr., will be playing together at his beloved Sporting Lisbon

Cris­tiano Ronal­do’s moth­er has pre­dict­ed that his son and 12-year-old grand­son, Cris­tiano Jr., will be play­ing togeth­er at his beloved Sport­ing Lisbon.

Dolores Aveiro said it was a ‘dream come true’ to see them in the same team at the Man­ches­ter Unit­ed strik­er’s boy­hood club.

“Cris­tiano must come back here,” she told a Por­tuguese mag­a­zine. Accord­ing to me, he should be back by now.

His son, I want to see him play for Sport­ing again before he dies,” he has already said.

“Not this year, but maybe next year.

“But if it weren’t for him, it would be Cris­tian­iño. At this age, he is play­ing bet­ter than his father.

“Cris­tiano did­n’t have a coach when he was 12, but now he’s his son’s teacher”.

The 67-year-old Madeira patri­arch has claimed in an inter­view with Nova Gente that Man­ches­ter Unit­ed youth play­er Cris­tian­iño is “sure” to sign for Sport­ing in the future. “He already said, ‘Dad, if he lives in Lis­bon, he wants to play for Sporting.

“It would be my dream to see them play togeth­er at the club.”

Sport­ing Lis­bon fan Dolores has made it clear that he wants his 37-year-old son, who left the club as a teenag­er to become a star play­er in the Pre­mier League, to return to Por­tu­gal’s top league.

Late last year, he man­aged to place a Sport­ing Lis­bon gift on top of his son’s Christ­mas tree.

Sharp Sport­ing fans will see a green bag bear­ing the club’s ini­tials at the cen­ter of a pho­to the foot­baller and her fam­i­ly used to wish their mil­lions of Insta­gram fol­low­ers ‘Mer­ry Christ­mas’. For that rea­son, I con­grat­u­lat­ed her on her ability.

A moth­er of four, she is one of her fam­i­ly mem­bers who shared the same snap­shot on social networks.

Two months lat­er, he cheek­i­ly repost­ed a pho­to on his Insta­gram sto­ry cel­e­brat­ing Sport­ing Lis­bon’s 3–1 Cham­pi­ons League win over Borus­sia Dort­mund, writ­ing, “Only you were miss­ing.” and post­ed what appeared to be a mes­sage to the Man­ches­ter Unit­ed striker.

Cris­tiano will remain at Old Traf­ford until at least Jan­u­ary after fail­ing to leave the club to guar­an­tee Cham­pi­ons League play this sea­son, although his two-year con­tract will not expire until the end of the season.

Spec­u­la­tion abound­ed about his future as he was said to have explored a move to Sport­ing Lis­bon this summer.

Cris­tiano Jr., mean­while, is thriv­ing in Unit­ed’s academy.
