Joe Biden’s Emotional Farewell

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden, 81, deliv­ered an emo­tion­al and at times stum­bling swan song speech at the 2024 Demo­c­ra­t­ic Nation­al Con­ven­tion in Chicago.

The pres­i­den­t’s keynote address, intend­ed to pass the torch to Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris, was bumped from prime­time due to delays and delays, leav­ing Biden to con­clude his his­toric 53-year polit­i­cal career in the dead of night.

Struggles with Speech and Emotion

Biden was joined on stage by Har­ris, the Demo­c­ra­t­ic nom­i­nee, as well as his son Hunter and oth­er fam­i­ly members. 

The pres­i­dent took sev­er­al swipes at for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, call­ing him a “liar” and a “los­er” who was “dead wrong” about the state of the nation. 

He also wad­ed into his par­ty’s inter­nal dra­ma, acknowl­edg­ing the pro­test­ers out­side and voic­ing con­cerns about the Gaza conflict.

Jill Biden’s Emotional Revelation

Pri­or to Biden’s speech, First Lady Jill Biden deliv­ered an emo­tion­al address, reveal­ing that she watched her hus­band “dig deep into his soul” as he made the his­toric deci­sion not to seek re-election.

Insid­ers have said Jill was “dis­mayed” by the betray­al of Democ­rats who pub­licly called for Biden to step down, but she put on a brave face and enthu­si­as­ti­cal­ly endorsed Harris.
