Manchester City’s Ruben Dias was named the “biggest fraud” by his team-mates Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland in a humorous video released ahead of the Oscars on Sunday. The players were tasked with handing out awards to each other, but Grealish and Haaland decided to poke fun at Dias instead of recognising an achievement. In the video, Grealish said, “This award goes to Ruben Dias, the biggest fraud in the team… He’s supposed to be our best defender, but every time I play against him, I score or assist.”
Haaland, too, joined in the fun and joked, “Yeah, I mean, he’s all the time in the gym and the results… where are the results? There’s no way to see them.” The short clip was well-received by City fans online, with one writing, “Us as City fans get so much content from our players it’s unreal! No other group of players come close.”
While the video was meant to be a light-hearted joke, it highlights the camaraderie and team spirit among Man City’s players. Dias has been a crucial part of City’s defence since joining the team in 2020 and has played a key role in their success this season. Despite the playful ribbing from his team-mates, Dias is sure to continue giving his best on the pitch and helping City win more matches.
