Adele Announces Indefinite Hiatus from Music After Vegas Residency

Adele, the renowned singer-song­writer, has con­firmed that she will be tak­ing a long break from the music indus­try fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of her Las Vegas residency. 

The 36-year-old artist made the announce­ment dur­ing one of her per­for­mances in Munich, Ger­many, inform­ing her fans that they won’t be see­ing her for an “incred­i­bly long time.”

Farewell to the Spotlight

In a Tik­Tok clip shared from the Munich show, Adele said, “I have 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incred­i­bly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”

This announce­ment has left her devot­ed fan­base both sad­dened and under­stand­ing, with some express­ing their hope that she will even­tu­al­ly return to the stage.

A Well-Deserved Break

Adele’s deci­sion to step away from the music indus­try comes after a suc­cess­ful run of her Las Vegas res­i­den­cy, “Week­ends With Adele,” which began in Novem­ber 2022. 

The “Easy on Me” singer has been open about her desire to take a break and explore oth­er cre­ative avenues, as she revealed in an inter­view with the Ger­man out­let ZDF in July.

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” Adele stat­ed. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do oth­er cre­ative things, just for a lit­tle while.”

Personal Life and Future Plans

Fans have spec­u­lat­ed that Adele’s hia­tus may be relat­ed to her per­son­al life, with many sug­gest­ing she might be plan­ning to get mar­ried to her fiancé, Rich Paul, and poten­tial­ly have anoth­er child. The singer already has a son, 11-year-old Ange­lo, from her pre­vi­ous mar­riage to Simon Konecki.

Adele’s last album, “30,” was released in 2021, and she typ­i­cal­ly releas­es new music every few years. How­ev­er, the singer has expressed con­cerns about the strain her Vegas res­i­den­cy has had on her voice, stat­ing that she “gets ner­vous about wear­ing [her] voice out.”

As Adele pre­pares to bid farewell to her fans for an “incred­i­bly long time,” her sup­port­ers remain hope­ful that she will even­tu­al­ly return to the music indus­try with renewed ener­gy and creativity.
