Powerhouse Manhattan law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks, known for representing major music artists, was forced to cut ties with longtime client Sean “Diddy” Combs due to an ultimatum from pop superstar Lady Gaga.

Grubman Shire has represented Combs for over 20 years, but Lady Gaga threatened to leave the firm if they did not part ways with the rap mogul. “Lady Gaga said she was leaving [the firm] if they didn’t drop Diddy. And she’s too big to lose,” an insider told reporter Paula Froelich.

The firm could not afford to lose Gaga as a client. Dropping Combs was a necessary choice to keep their highest profile clients like Gaga, Elton John, Barbra Streisand, and Drake happy.

Combs’ reputation has taken hits in recent years. Disturbing video surfaced in 2016 showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. More recently, New York City Mayor Eric Adams revoked Combs’ honorary “Key to NYC” due to the incident.

Losing the support of a prestigious law firm like Grubman Shire deals another blow to Combs’ image. While he was with them for decades, their commitment to Lady Gaga shows where their priorities now lie.
