Lana Del Rey’s Ex-Fiancé Breaks Silence on Shock Wedding

Kel­li Welsh, 45, the ex-fiancée of Lana Del Rey’s new hus­band Jere­my Dufrene, has revealed she was com­plete­ly caught off guard by the cou­ple’s sur­prise wedding.

The singer-song­writer, 39, mar­ried the 49-year-old gator guide in an inti­mate cer­e­mo­ny in Louisiana just one month after going pub­lic with their relationship.

A Whirlwind Romance

“I am in shock because we were engaged for 12 years, and he got mar­ried after one month,” Welsh told DailyMail.com. She and Dufrene had been engaged for over a decade before split­ting in Octo­ber 2023. The unlike­ly cou­ple, who first met in 2019, decid­ed to tie the knot just weeks after con­firm­ing their relationship.

Supportive Ex

Despite the shock, Welsh says she is “hap­py” for her ex-fiancé and his new bride. “He is a very pro­tec­tive, hard­work­ing, man­ly man. He need­ed to get out of his com­fort zone. He was used to bay­ou life and being out on the swamp. He is deserv­ing of this bless­ing,” she shared.

A Lasting Connection

Welsh and Dufrene have known each oth­er since they were teenagers, hav­ing dat­ed briefly when she was 16 and he was 19. They lat­er recon­nect­ed in 2011 and were engaged for over a decade before split­ting. Welsh says she still cares deeply for Dufrene and is glad to see him find happiness.
