Leg­endary musi­cian Jim­my Buf­fet, known for hit song “Mar­gar­i­taville,” has passed away at 76.

Buf­fet died peace­ful­ly with fam­i­ly near after liv­ing ful­ly until the end. His new album was set for late 2022 release.

The Mis­sis­sip­pi native devel­oped a love of music from his the­ater-lov­ing moth­er. With his­to­ry degrees, he wrote and fished but broke out in 1977 with “Mar­gar­i­taville.”

This sun­ny song launched a busi­ness empire includ­ing resorts, drinks and clothes. Over 30 albums fol­lowed devot­ed “Par­rot­heads.”

Despite pri­mar­i­ly a live draw, Buf­fet scored coun­try num­ber ones includ­ing a Zac Brown duet. Forbes called him a bil­lion­aire for tour­ing prof­its and a $50 mil­lion catalog.

The tal­ent­ed pilot sur­vived a 1994 plane crash and 2011 stage fall, recov­er­ing each time. He also found­ed a non­prof­it to pro­tect marine animals.

Buf­fett con­stant­ly per­formed for fans he called “Par­rot­heads” until health issues in May 2022. Now the leg­endary artist and fam­i­ly man is mourned by many worldwide.
