Up-and-com­ing artist Chap­pell Roan react­ed angri­ly when a pho­tog­ra­ph­er attempt­ed to take her pic­ture on the 2024 VMAs red car­pet. As Roan adjust­ed her elab­o­rate dress, she turned to the pho­tog­ra­ph­er and shout­ed “You shut the f–k up!”

Roan is hope­ful she can take home the cov­et­ed Best New Artist award at the VMAs, some­thing she has “nev­er won any­thing” for before. If vic­to­ri­ous, she plans to give a shoutout to her ex, say­ing “You got me here.”
