Taylor Swift had an unexpected encounter with a bug while singing at Chicago’s Soldier Field stadium on Sunday, briefly stopping her show before cracking a joke about the situation with her fans.
According to reports, the singer was in the middle of a song when a bug flew into her mouth, causing her to cough and interrupt her performance that silenced the thousands of fans watching.
Once Taylor recovered, she told her fans what had happened, making them laugh with her humor. She then sarcastically said “Oh, delicious!” about eating the bug.
The accidental ingestion shows Taylor’s quick wit and ability to handle unpredictable onstage moments. Instead of being embarrassed, she was able to turn the bug incident into a moment of fun and connection with her audience.
The show was the last of three concerts Taylor held in the Windy City as part of her Eras Tour. Earlier in the weekend, she showed her support for the LGBTQ community by expressing her love for fans being their authentic selves during Pride Month.
The successful tour will continue through the rest of the year with newly announced dates in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.
