U2’s Adam Clayton and his wife, Mariana Teixeira Carvalho, have announced their amicable divorce after 11 years of marriage. The bassist, 64, and the lawyer, 45, released a joint statement confirming the split, while also noting they will continue to co-parent their 6‑year-old daughter, Alba.

Clayton and Teixeira Carvalho tied the knot in a 2013 Dublin registry office ceremony and welcomed their daughter in 2017. The news of their divorce comes as a surprise to fans, who have seen the couple maintain a relatively private life throughout their marriage.

This marks the end of Clayton’s second marriage, as he was previously married to model Naomi Campbell in the 1990s. The bassist and his ex-wife have expressed their commitment to prioritizing their daughter’s well-being and ensuring a smooth transition during this new chapter of their lives.
