Heartbreaking Loss: Inquest Begins for 11-Year-Old Discharged with Constipation Diagnosis

A grieving family seeks answers in the heartbreaking case of 11-year-old Annabel Greenhalgh. Annabel tragically passed away just hours after being discharged from Warwick Hospital’s A&E department with a diagnosis of constipation.

Concerns Raised About Missed Diagnosis

Annabel’s parents, Craig and Josie Greenhalgh, took her to the hospital on October 13, 2022, due to abdominal pain. The discharge with a constipation diagnosis has raised questions about whether a more thorough evaluation could have prevented this devastating loss.

Family Remembers Annabel’s Light

Josie described Annabel as “an incredible child, loved by all who met her.” The family is understandably heartbroken and determined to understand the circumstances surrounding their daughter’s death.

Inquest Aims to Shed Light

An inquest beginning on Friday at the Coventry Coroner’s Court will examine Annabel’s treatment and care. The Greenhalgh family hopes the inquest will provide closure and ensure such tragedies don’t occur again.
