A heartbreaking incident occurred on a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Delhi on June 20, 2024, when a young aspiring chef tragically passed away just before the plane’s takeoff.

The victim, 24-year-old Manpreet Kaur, was returning to India to see her family for the first time in four years, but never made it to her destination.

According to Kaur’s friend, Gurdip Grewal, the student had reportedly “felt unwell” hours before arriving at the airport, but still managed to board the flight without any issues.

However, when Kaur went to put on her seatbelt, she suddenly fell to the floor and “died on the spot.” The plane was still attached to the gate in Melbourne when cabin crew and emergency services rushed to help her.

Kaur’s roommate, Kuldeep, revealed that the young woman had been working at Australia Post while studying cookery, with dreams of one day becoming a chef. “She was kind and honest,” Kuldeep told the Herald Sun, adding that Kaur loved to travel with her friends around Victoria.

A GoFundMe page has been created to support Kaur’s family during this difficult time. “Our dear friend Manpreet left us too soon, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled,” the page reads. “As we grieve her passing, we want to come together to honor her memory and support her family in their time of need.”
