Ever bought stocks? The SEC might be tracking your every move! ️‍♀️ A new lawsuit alleges the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is secretly collecting tons of data on everyday investors like you and me.

Here’s the tea: The suit targets the SEC’s Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) program. This program supposedly forces brokers and exchanges to spill the details on all your stock trades Yikes!

The New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA), the group behind the lawsuit, says the SEC has no right to do this without permission from Congress and it might even violate your privacy rights. ️

Think about it: All your stock trades in one giant database? Hackers? Identity theft? The NCLA is worried this centralized system could be a security nightmare. They want the courts to step in and see if the SEC’s program goes too far. ⚖️
