Security Scare at DNC
The Democratic National Convention in Chicago was hit with a major security scare on Tuesday as police investigated multiple bomb threats targeting several hotels near the event.
The threats mentioned the four-day DNC happening at the United Center and made “anti-Semitic statements.”
Protesters Clash with Police
The city was already on edge, with an enormous police presence and thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters turning up every day.
On Monday, dozens of protesters broke through a security fence near the convention site as they marched to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Investigation Underway
Police are investigating the bomb threats and the anti-Semitic statements made in the warnings. Additional security measures have been put in place around the convention’s perimeter, including more fencing and a no-fly zone for drones.
