Delaware Man Steals $11,000 in Cigarettes from Walgreens, Police Seek Public's Help

Wilm­ing­ton, DE – Delaware State Police are search­ing for a man sus­pect­ed of steal­ing a sig­nif­i­cant amount of cig­a­rettes from a Wal­greens store on Thurs­day, June 15th. Accord­ing to author­i­ties, the theft involved over $11,000 worth of cigarettes.

Sur­veil­lance footage cap­tured the inci­dent, show­ing the sus­pect enter­ing the store on New Lin­den Hill Road and tak­ing the cig­a­rettes while an employ­ee was occu­pied. The sus­pect is described as a man wear­ing a red shirt and red shoes, who was using a walk­er at the time.

In a Face­book post, Delaware State Police urged the pub­lic’s assis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing the sus­pect. They includ­ed a humor­ous quip: “Yes, you read that right—eleven thou­sand dol­lars’ worth of smokes!” The post fur­ther empha­sized the impor­tance of pub­lic coop­er­a­tion, stat­ing, “Your tip could be the match that lights up this case!”
