A dead­ly mass shoot­ing erupt­ed at a Fourth of July block par­ty in Detroit, leav­ing 2 peo­ple mourned vic­tims and 18 oth­ers injured, author­i­ties confirmed.

The vio­lence unfold­ed around 2:25 a.m. on Sun­day at Reno Street and Rossi­ni Dri­ve, where res­i­dents were cel­e­brat­ing the holiday.

Police appre¬≠hend¬≠ed a 22-year-old male sus¬≠pect who sus¬≠tained a gun¬≠shot wound to his leg and is hos¬≠pi¬≠tal¬≠ized. The deceased include a 20-year-old woman shot in the head and a 21-year-old man shot in the back.
