Tragic Loss of a Dedicated Public Servant
Texas state troopÂer Kevin AlexÂis Ramirez Vasquez, 25, has died after being struck by a vehiÂcle while respondÂing to an acciÂdent. Ramirez Vasquez had joined the Texas DepartÂment of PubÂlic SafeÂty (TXDPS) in 2023 and was staÂtioned in Odessa.
Lifetime of Service to Texas and the U.S.
PriÂor to becomÂing a state troopÂer, Ramirez Vasquez had served in the U.S. Army and was also a memÂber of the NationÂal Guard. The departÂment praised his âlife of serÂviceâ and comÂmitÂment to proÂtectÂing the peoÂple of Texas.

At just 25 years old, Ramirez Vasquez is surÂvived by his parÂents and three sibÂlings. He is the 241st TXDPS offiÂcer to die in the line of duty since 1823, underÂscorÂing the danÂgerÂous realÂiÂties faced by those who dedÂiÂcate their lives to pubÂlic service.
