Deadly Crash Near Lancaster
A pilot was killed and anothÂer susÂtained minor injuries after two vinÂtage planes colÂlidÂed in mid-air just outÂside Los AngeÂles, near the city of LanÂcastÂer. The fatal crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Planes Were Performing Aerobatics
The two planes, a Yakovlev Yak 52 and a NanÂchang CJ-6A, were flyÂing in the LanÂcastÂer area and âposÂsiÂbly doing an aerÂoÂbatÂic maneuÂverâ when the colÂliÂsion hapÂpened, accordÂing to the Los AngeÂles CounÂty SherÂifÂfâs Department.
One Plane Crashed, Another Made Emergency Landing
One of the planes made a crash landÂing near the interÂsecÂtion of E. Avenue G and 60 Street East, while the othÂer plane landÂed about 15 minÂutes away near W. Avenue F and 55th Street West.
Police and NTSB Investigation
