Deadly Collision Over Lancaster Skies

A fatal midair col­li­sion between two sin­gle-engine planes occurred on Sun­day after­noon near Lan­cast­er, Cal­i­for­nia. The inci­dent, involv­ing a Nan­chang CJ‑6 and a Yakovlev Yak-52, result­ed in one pilot’s death while the oth­er escaped uninjured.

Emergency Response and Crash Sites

The Los Ange­les Coun­ty Fire Depart­ment respond­ed prompt­ly to reports of downed air­craft. One plane land­ed near the inter­sec­tion of 47th Street East and Avenue F, while the oth­er came down near 60th Street East and Avenue G in Lancaster.
