An Ocala man was arrested Thursday after thousands of pounds of child pornography were found at his home.
Paul Zitter, 72, was arrested on 25 counts of possession of child pornography.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said it received a call in January that a file containing child sexual abuse material was posted online.
As a result of the investigation, it turned out that the IP address belongs to Zittel.
A search warrant was issued against his home.
A search of Zitter’s home said other residents said he wouldn’t allow anyone into his bedroom or office without being personally escorted.
Detectives found countless photographs depicting child sexual abuse material.
MCSO estimates there are over 220,000 images that weigh about 2,600 pounds.
According to MCSO, the photos were placed in large piles and boxes throughout bedrooms and offices.
The printer on Gittel’s desk showed signs of abuse. Investigators took photographs, computers, and digital storage devices.
He was taken to Marion County Jail and is currently being held on $250,000 bail.
