A Flori­da man has been sen­tenced to life in prison for the mur­der of his neigh­bor over a dis­pute involv­ing dog feces. Omar Rodriguez was con­vict­ed of sec­ond-degree mur­der and aggra­vat­ed assault for the June 2015 shoot­ing of Jose Rey.

Shocking Courtroom Outburst

Dur­ing the sen­tenc­ing hear­ing, Rodriguez caused a scene when he began shout­ing at the vic­tim’s wid­ow, Lis­sette Rey. As she read her impact state­ment, Rodriguez erupt­ed, call­ing her hus­band a “cow­ard” and claim­ing he “cried like a baby.” He was swift­ly removed from the court­room by law enforcement.
