Ex-Nebraska baseball player Cole Klemke (27) faces attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman at a San Diego drive-through ATM. This comes just weeks after Klemke’s arrest and release for a reported carjacking.

The 25-year-old victim sustained three stab wounds but bravely fought back with witness assistance. Though the attack narrowly missed her carotid artery, doctors emphasized the severity.

Identified through surveillance and witness accounts, Klemke has a history of arrests including meth possession, carjacking (charges dropped due to insufficient evidence), resisting arrest, and switchblade possession.

The former No. 215 shortstop prospect is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday. This case raises concerns about potentially lenient handling of past offenses.
