Tragedy Strikes at the Drive-Thru

The fam­i­ly of a 25-year-old woman, Megan Kele­man, were left dev­as­tat­ed after she was trag­i­cal­ly killed while wait­ing for her meal at a Taco Bell dri­ve-thru in north­east Ohio.

Details of the Incident

Accord­ing to wit­ness­es, the inci­dent unfold­ed when a vehi­cle sud­den­ly slammed into Kele­man’s car from behind as she was stalled in the dri­ve-thru line. 

The dri­ver, iden­ti­fied as 53-year-old Jason Williams, then exit­ed his car and approached Kele­man, who was still in her vehi­cle. Trag­i­cal­ly, the wit­ness­es report­ed that Williams then fatal­ly shot Kele­man before turn­ing the gun on himself.

Keleman’s Life and Legacy

Kele­man was described as an ani­mal lover and a “child advo­cate” who recent­ly grad­u­at­ed from Cleve­land State Uni­ver­si­ty with a mas­ter’s degree in busi­ness admin­is­tra­tion and a bach­e­lor’s degree in finance and finan­cial man­age­ment services.

She was employed at Shel­ter Care Inc., a res­i­den­tial treat­ment pro­gram for chil­dren with emo­tion­al or behav­ioral problems.

Authorities Investigate the Motive

Author­i­ties have stat­ed that they have no indi­ca­tion that Kele­man and Williams knew each oth­er pri­or to the incident. 

The inves­ti­ga­tion into the motive behind this sense­less tragedy is ongo­ing, as the com­mu­ni­ty strug­gles to make sense of the dev­as­tat­ing loss.

Keleman’s Family Requests Privacy

In a state­ment, Kele­man’s fam­i­ly expressed their deep grief and asked for pri­va­cy dur­ing this dif­fi­cult time, say­ing, “We kind­ly ask for the media and the pub­lic’s under­stand­ing for our pri­va­cy as we con­tin­ue to focus on sup­port­ing each oth­er through this dif­fi­cult period.”
