Major bummer for Howard nursing grads! Their ceremony went from lit to chaotic real quick after the venue filled up and guests got shut out. (Security probs on point tho )

Outside, family and friends were chanting “Let us in!” while banging on the doors. Things got heated, and a window even shattered! Yikes! (Thankfully, no one got seriously hurt )

The whole thing got cancelled mid-speech because officials said it was a fire hazard. D.C. Fire and EMS later said they were just there for a medical call, so that’s confusing.

Imagine spending all that time and money to see your grad walk across the stage, only for it to get shut down? One student even missed their high school graduation due to COVID! Talk about bad luck.

Luckily, some grads got to walk in the main ceremony later, and awards were still given out. But still, a disappointing end to a big achievement. #CongratsButSorry

This whole mess shows how important planning and crowd control are for graduation ceremonies. Gotta make sure everyone celebrates safely and respectfully! #HowardUDoBetter #NextYearBeLit
